TDS (total dissolved solids) are organic and inorganic substances present in your water in suspended form. High levels of TDS can lead to gastrointestinal problems, such as stomach pain and diarrhea, and in other cases, cause kidney disease, liver disease, and kidney stones.
Sodium is another big concern in TDS as soft water wells have high sodium levels, which in drinking water may be an issue for someone with hypertension, congestive heart failure, trying to loss weight or on a sodium-restricted diet. Recommendations from the health unit, are NOT to consume water with a total TDS of over 500 mg/L.
Drinking reverse osmosis water with a low TDS is best for your health, as it cleans the impurities so our kidneys will have to do less work.
Reverse osmosis is recommended on city water and well water to remove the contaminants and chemicals that are prevalent in our water today. Reverse osmosis improves the taste of your water, the taste of your coffee teas and juices. It also improves the clarity of the ice you make! Purified water at your fingertips for your cooking, your pets, your wine or beer making.
As pressurized water goes through the unit, the contaminants get caught and only 95% purified water goes to a separate tap that is mounted beside your kitchen tap. Then you have purified healthy water at your fingertips ready for drinking, cooking, or many other purposes.
Having a reverse osmosis system is a decision you will not regret.
Reverse Osmosis removes or reduces:
Reverse osmosis is a water filtration method. The water is forced through a semi-permeable membrane at pressure, leaving all larger particles behind.
