Potassium Permanganate Iron Filter
We at Water Wise have chosen to carry the potassium permanganate system, an iron filter with the lowest maintenance cost over time.
Other kinds of iron filters can be used for removing iron from your water supply BUT they can restrict water flow and become quite costly to maintain due to the iron plugging up—the mineral bed and control valves. The potassium permanganate system has proven its effectiveness since the early 1900s.
Water Wise uses a single-valve system with a fully computerized controller, making it more efficient than ever before. The valve is a full one-inch flow-through, so you will experience virtually no pressure loss.
Potassium permanganate has two remarkable abilities: containing high amounts of oxygen and inhibiting bacteria. The mineral in the iron filter utilizes the oxygen as an oxidizer, turning the iron into a solid that is then extracted from the water.
